Shala Monroque au naturel
Shala Monroque has made a very swift entrance onto the NYC party and fashion scene at large. Significant other to art gallery owner Larry Gagosian, Shala is an artistic force in her own right. She has been covered by fashion media since the fantastic September fete at her home to celebrate Pop Magazine as well as a slew of other major events. Check out Who What Wear Daily's recent coverage (photo below). I also just started reading Shala's blog; I need to spend more time with it but what I like about it so far is that there is a point-of-view that is not obvious...intriguing.

No offense but many of you are now just paying attention to her. She's been on the scene since 2005 right along with Genevieve Jones. Anyway it's great that many people are noticing her and it's refreshing to see a regular person instead of some stylist dressed celebrity for a change.
divalocity, more like 2006/2007, and that is because
of Larry Gagosian. He put her on the map.
SHe was a nobody before him, working as a hostess at kittichai.
Isn't everyone a "nobody" at some point? Unless you're born into it like Suri Cruise or Paris Hilton. There has to be room for a talented fashionista every now and then that wasn't born into wealth & power. Why begrudge her success based on her well known significant other. That seems a bit petty.
